Foolproof and perfect mashed potatoes – every time!
Basic mashed potatoes
- Time: 30 minutes
- 2kg potatoes
- (50g salted butter)
- 100ml milk
- Peel the potatoes, cut into chunks and boil in a pan of boiling water for 15-20 minutes. (how to boil potatoes)
- Drain potatoes and put back into the pan and mash well with a potato masher, fork, blender or mixer.
- Add warm milk and butter (butter is optional) and season with salt and pepper. Mash again until smooth, adding more milk to loosen, if needed. Done!
Storing & freezing tips
- Two to three days in the fridge
- Freeze in an airtight container
